YEREVAN. – Back in 2018, when second President of Armenia Robert Kocharyan was arrested, his French Armenian lawyer Sevak Torosyan had stated that this issue is not legal and not even political, but human.

And in an interview on Thursday, the lawyer confirmed that it was a return to the institute of “human sacrifices.” "It is impossible to remain silent anymore. There has already been a war. Why the war? Consider what was launched against [CSTO former Secretary General] Yuri Khachaturov as [PM] Nikol Pashinyan tried to arrest [Russian President Vladimir] Putin. Are you crazy? Are you abnormal? It was from that moment on that the countdown began when [the recent Artsakh (Nagorno-Karabakh)] war was a matter of time. You do not have to be a political scientist to know what will happen if the ‘rabbit’ misses when hitting the ‘bear,’" Torosyan said.

According to him, it is surprising for the Armenian diaspora why Armenia’s opposition did not take active and serious steps after the disgraceful defeat in the aforesaid war. "There are peoples who deserve to have a state, and vice versa. And if the people's choice is Nikol Pashinyan, this is a matter of democracy and mentality," the lawyer said.
