YEREVAN. – Last year we had a sharp decline in the tourism sector, but you can also see that when last year we did not have tourists this month, this year we have; there are large groups of Iranians. The minister of economy of Armenia, Vahan Kerobyan, told this to reporters Friday.

"Now it is Nowruz [the Iranian New Year], and there are many Iranians [on holidays] in Armenia. There are many reservations for April, and from May we [Armenia] plan to enter at an acceptable and normal pace [of tourism]. The growth of tourism for this year is projected at 319% compared to last year; that is, it is minus 20-25% compared to 2019, but the forecast is plus 319% compared to 2020," the minister emphasized.
