YEREVAN. – The Central Bank forecasts 1.4% economic growth for 2021; according to our budget forecasts, it is 3.2%. But the results of January-February of this year are better than the results of 2019 because January-February of 2020 were considerably better than in January-February 2019. The minister of economy of Armenia, Vahan Kerobyan, told this to reporters Friday.

"If we compare and maintain the growth rate compared to 2019, by the end of the year we will have more than 10% economic growth compared to 2020. (…). There is a lot of activeness in agriculture. Besides, there is [activeness] also in the industrial sphere," the minister added.

And referring to his social media post Thursday that the Armenian economy has virtually recovered, the minister said. "Last year was a leap year, and every day generates an internal result. It was about [the fact] that if we make adjustments to the 5.3% decline, then we [Armenia] are very close to the point of recovery."
