The summer session of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe (PACE) opens in Strasbourg today.

The reforms of the Council of Europe and the current situation in Tunisia are expected to be focal points at the session.

The Armenian delegation is represented by David Harutyunyan (RPA), Gagik Baghdasaryan (Rule of Law), Naira Zohrabyan (Prosperous Armenia), Grigor Margaryan (RPA), Armen Melikyan (Prosperous Armenia), Hermine Naghdalyan (RPA), Armen Rustamyan (ARFD) and Zaruhi Postanjyan (Heritage).

Armenian President Serzh Sargsyan is scheduled to deliver speech on June 21 during PACE session, Naira Zohrabyan, head of the Armenian delegation to PACE, had earlier told Armenian News-NEWS.am.

In this context, the Azerbaijani and Turkish delegations will intensify their efforts during the session held on June 20-24 in Strasburg, she said. Zohrabyan noted that representatives of the delegation have already applied to address questions to the Armenian President.

The MP stressed that no issues regarding Armenia are included in session’s agenda. However, the Armenian delegation will voice key regional problems.

“I am confident that the Azerbaijani delegation will hardly miss a chance to use PACE platform for anti-Armenian propaganda, but the Armenian delegation is ready or it,” she concluded.
