YEREVAN. – The National Assembly (NA) of Armenia is holding a special session Monday, on the agenda of which is the matter of electing a new prime minister.

Only one candidate is nominated. The majority My Step faction has nominated acting PM Nikol Pashinyan for the post.

Pashinyan stepped down on April 25 as premier, so that the NA later does not elect a new prime minister twice, after which the legislature shall dissolve and snap parliamentary elections be held on June 20.

According to the respective scenario, the NA will not elect Nikol Pashinyan as Prime Minister today and on May 10, too.
