YEREVAN. – On April 29, there were media reports that the statue of Mahatma Gandhi had been damaged in Yerevan. Armenian News-NEWS.am learned about this by the police.

Police who arrived at the scene had found out that this statue and its pedestal were damaged in the park where they were installed.

The police and the National Security Service have determined the identity of the perpetrator.

The said 61-year-old resident of Yerevan was taken to a police station on Monday, and he confessed.

An investigation is underway.
