Students of the middle school in Hayanist village of Ararat Province of Armenia attend lessons outside.

According to Shamshyan.com, on April 10, the roof of the school was completely torn apart due to strong winds. On May 4, the school’s principal Armine Avetisyan told Shamshyan.com the following: “The roof was torn apart due to strong winds on April 10. The only consolation was that there were no victims, but the school suffered tremendous damages. The next day, it rained, and we had to come down from the third floor to the lower floors, and we even hold lessons outside. Although we had held three-day remote lessons before this, we found it appropriate to hold lessons outside rather than remotely. We have addressed the regional governor’s office of Ararat Province, and from there we have addressed the government. We’re certain that the government will provide funding for renovation of not only the roof, but also the whole building in a short period of time. The school has over 300 students, and there are even students from the nearby villages and Yerevan.”
