YEREVAN. – Unacceptable mechanical approaches are being used in the border demarcation process. The Human Rights Defender (Ombudsman) of Armenia, Arman Tatoyan, said this at Thursday sitting of the National Assembly, during the latter’s discussion of the report on the work done by the ombudsman's office in 2020.

According to him, there are no professional approaches in this regard. "The work of the relevant committees is not carried out, the preliminary inventory and the assessment of people's needs are not carried out," the ombudsman complained.

Tatoyan stressed that the social and economic rights of the residents of Syunik and Gegharkunik Provinces of Armenia are being grossly violated, as many of them have been deprived of their lands and houses.
