An intergovernmental memorandum on biosecurity has been signed in Yerevan on the sidelines of the working visit of Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation Sergey Lavrov.

During a joint press conference with his Armenian counterpart, the Russian foreign minister informed that the purpose of implementing the memorandum is to make a significant contribution to further development of cooperation in this sensitive sector that is becoming more and more current and help strengthen the common area of biosecurity. “We will promote this current topic within the scope of multilateral organizations, including the Collective Security Treaty Organization and the Commonwealth of Independent States,” Lavrov said.
