YEREVAN. – I call on all participants in the election process to show restraint and obey the laws. Prosecutor General Artur Davtyan stated this at Friday’s National Assembly session, referring to the snap parliamentary elections scheduled for June 20 in Armenia.

He vowed to react harshly on election-related insults and irregularities. "Our wounded homeland is at a crucial phase; and the experience of the previous elections has shown all the possible negative manifestations and their consequences. Therefore, I call on all participants in the election process to show restraint and obey the laws," Davtyan said.

He expressed hope that the political forces that will run in the aforesaid elections will show a conscious approach, as they love their country and see the possible consequences. "However, as the Prosecutor General, they have to warn that if someone thinks that they can circumvent the law in this accountable process, the consequences can be painful, as the reaction will be very harsh," Artur Davtyan added.
