The Israeli army attacked a Hamas military post in the south of the Gaza Strip. 

The military responded to the launch of a rocket from the territory of the Gaza Strip, Kommersant reported.

The Middle East Quartet - Russia, the US, the EU and the UN - earlier expressed concern over acts of violence in East Jerusalem, where about 300 people were injured during clashes. 

The Quartet also expressed concern about the launch of rockets and Molotov cocktails from the Gaza Strip in the direction of Israel.
