YEREVAN. – The amount of revenues to the state budget of Armenia has increased, despite the fact that the government has reduced the income tax. Acting Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan stated this at Monday’s special sitting of the National Assembly, during the latter’s debates on the matter of electing a new prime minister.

According to him, after the change of power in Armenia in 2018, the number of officially registered jobs in the country has increased by 85,000, or more than 15 percent. "Naturally, all these jobs are not new, as, in many cases, de facto work has started to be de jure formulated. But this is also important, as the workers have received labor rights, and the state—additional taxes in the budget," said the acting premier.

"In March 2021, compared to 2018, the total legal salary fund in the country increased by 36 percent, or by 34 billion drams, and the average salary increased by about 20 percent," Pashinyan added.

Thus, according to him, the Armenian government’s expectations from the tax reforms have been met; that is, the income tax has decreased, whereas the state budget revenues have increased.
