The new authorities of Armenia don’t want to admit that they made mistakes in terms of their personnel policy. During the discussions held by the parliamentary committee leading a probe into the escalation [of the situation in Artsakh] of April 2016, the committee’s chairman, deputy of the ruling My Step bloc Andranik Kocharyan declared that the committee had questions about the actions of army general Artak Davtyan. This is what leader of the opposition Bright Armenia faction of the National Assembly of Armenia Edmon Marukyan said in parliament today.

According to Marukyan, when Davtyan was appointed Chief of the General Staff of the Armed Forces again, these questions ‘suddenly disappeared from the conclusion of the committee’.

“The other example is Valeriy Osipyan, who was appointed Chief of Police of Armenia after the revolution. Yesterday he attended the rally held by second President of Armenia Robert Kocharyan, and this is the kind of person the government trusted to be the chief of police,” Marukyan said, addressing acting Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan, who was in parliament.
