Constitutional expert Gor Hovhannisyan posted on his Facebook page a comment in which he touched upon the ruling of the European Court of Human Rights on the three judges of the Constitutional Court of Poland who were appointed in 2015. The Facebook post reads as follows:

“On May 7, with its “Xero Flor” ruling, the European Court of Human Rights condemned Poland for its problematic reforms in the justice sector. With this ruling, the European Court of Human Rights came to the conclusion that the Constitutional Court of Poland can’t be deemed to be “tribunal established by law” with the current composition. According to the European Court of Human Rights, the appointment of the three judges of the Constitutional Court in 2015 was unlawful.

This is a good precedent, and I hope the European Court of Human Rights expresses the same opinion on the appointment of the last three judges of the Constitutional Court of Armenia.”
