The Yerevan court of general jurisdiction today postponed examination of the motion for conditional early release of Vardan Sedrakyan, who has been in prison for eight years already under the case of the assassination attempt against leader of the Union for National Self-Determination political party Paruyr Hayrikyan.

The Public Relations Department of the Prosecutor General’s Office reports that the court hearing will be held on May 27.

Head of the Public Relations Department of the Penitentiary Service at the Ministry of Justice Nona Navikyan had told Armenian News-NEWS.am that the regime for Sedrakyan to serve his punishment has been changed to open.
