YEREVAN. – At Thursday’s Cabinet meeting, the interim government of Armenia approved the draft law On Making Amendments to the Law on Medical Assistance and Services for the Population.

The draft proposes to lift the requirement not to perform autopsies in Armenia on persons who have died from the coronavirus.

According to the reasoning behind this bill, as a result of the autopsies carried out in Armenia during the last year, it became clear that getting infected with COVID-19 while autopsying a person who  has died from it can be prevented with the use of personal protection means being used during the autopsy, and the implementation of appropriate sanitary-epidemiological measures.

Accordingly, there was a need to lift the aforesaid requirement from the abovementioned law.
