The Armenian government decided to address the Collective Security Treaty Organization (CSTO) and launch a process because it is certain that this process will help completely solve the problem. This is what Secretary of the Security Council of Armenia Armen Grigoryan said during an interview aired on Armenian Public Television, adding that even though there might be delays, he is certain that the issue will be completely solved.

In regard to sharp responses to the Azerbaijani side, Grigoryan stated that it is necessary to understand the complete solution to the problem instead of giving sharp responses. “Armenia will unequivocally solve this problem with its allied member states of the CSTO. We don’t view this as a local issue. More large-scale operations lie at the core of this,” he said.

Grigoryan also said Armenia has addressed the CSTO in accordance with Article 2 of the Collective Security Treaty since the overall assessment of the situation shows that the created situation complies with Article 2.

“There is a threat to security, and to neutralize it, Armenia is addressing the CSTO under Article 2. This is the first time such a process is being launched in the history of the CSTO. Russia is a member state, and Armenia is certain that this is an effective mechanism,” he said, adding that he hopes there will be a response soon.
