YEREVAN. – One person has been detained on suspicion of hooliganism in Syunik Province; this was reported by the information and public relations department of the Investigative Committee of Armenia.

As per the respective statement, the investigation of a criminal case that was launched Friday has revealed that on the same day at around 3:30pm, a group of persons grossly violated public order, which was accompanied by violence against persons, at the Tegh village section the Goris-Stepanakert motorway in Syunik.

As a result, one person has been detained on suspicion of hooliganism, whereas his seven supporters were released on a signature bond not to leave the country.

Several people have been interviewed, forensic medical examinations have been ordered, and the investigative body has been instructed along the lines of this criminal case.

The investigation is underway.

To note, the person who has been detained is Artur Ayvazyan, a volunteer soldier.
