YEREVAN. – Zhoghovurd daily of the Republic of Armenia (RA) writes: The RA Special Investigation Service [(SIS)] has allowed RA former Chief of Police Alik Sargsyan, accused in the "March 1 [2008]" [criminal] case, to leave the Republic of Armenia.

According to the information we received, Alik Sargsyan petitioned to the SIS, stating that he has a serious health problem and has to go to the Russian Federation [(RF)] to get further treatment.

The SIS, after studying the former police chief's petition, granted [it] and allowed Alik Sargsyan's "signature [bond] not to leave [Armenia]" decision to be returned and he head for Russia.

The latter is currently in the RF and is busy with health issues.
