The Palestinian-Israeli confrontation could turn into a large-scale religious war, Mahmoud al-Habbash, adviser to the Palestinian president for religious affairs, told RIA Novosti.
According to al-Habbash, in Ramallah, for many years, they warned of a possible outbreak of religious war due to Israel's violations of holy sites in Jerusalem, as well as extremist actions of Jewish settlers.
If the status quo continues as it is, and if Israel and its settlers do not stop provoking the religious feelings of Palestinians and Muslims in general, then the world will face a religious war, the fire of which will go beyond Palestine, and the whole world will pay for it, said al-Habbash, who is also the supreme judge of Palestine.
