YEREVAN. – Hraparak daily of Armenia writes: The [electoral] list of the "I have the honor" bloc looks almost finished [for the snap parliamentary elections on June 20].

The members of the Homeland Party were surprised to learn that they are not on the first two top ten of the list. The first part of the list was compiled by [third President and former ruling Republican Party of Armenia (RPA) leader] Serzh Sargsyan and Ishkhan Zakaryan [former Chairman of the Control Chamber]. Although Serzh Sargsyan had previously said that he will not be on the list and the list will be compiled by [Homeland Party leader] Artur Vanetsyan, he has taken the process into his own hands, with slow and calm steps.

First, it was decided that the list will be distributed proportionally: 5 people from Vanetsyan's team, 5—from the RPA.

He [Sargsyan] then asked for a representative of his youth wing to be put on the place of the first woman [on this list], and gave the place of the next 5 women to Vanetsyan. But since there are not many women at the Homeland [Party], it turned out that "foreign" women (…) have appeared on the list.

Vote-getting RPA members, or their children, are on the second top ten, whereas the political team of the Homeland Party is on the third top ten; that is, if 10-15 people from the "I have the honor" bloc enter the NA [the National Assembly], then the team will be led by Artur Vanetsyan, with a group of Republicans and people who have nothing to do with the Homeland [Party]. This means that Serzh Sargsyan will rule the "I have the honor" [NA] faction from the shadows.
