YEREVAN. – Zhoghovurd newspaper of the Republic of Armenia (RA) writes: According to Zhoghovurd daily’s information, the community heads of Syunik and Gegharkunik Provinces have been instructed not to speak openly about the border situation.

Let us note that when the Azerbaijani side advanced in Gegharkunik and Syunik Provinces on May 12 on the grounds of "border clarification," the only officials were the heads of the communities, from whom it was possible to know any information—and always accurate and clear.

But now they, especially the community heads of Gegharkunik Province, have been instructed by the provincial hall to only to say that everything is fine, everything is the same, without opening brackets, in case of speaking with reporters. Let us note: this direct order from the RA Ministry of Territorial Administration has been given more to the community heads of Gegharkunik Province, as they are unable to make the Syunik community heads obey [them]; they are more independent.

And many of them these days do not answer the phone or, in case of answering, try to refute the information that is circulating in connection with the border situation. And, in parallel to that, the RA Ministry of Defense has started making active statements and presenting the situation on the border from its point of view.
