An appeal against the decision on rejecting institution of a criminal case based on the report filed by former Chief of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Armenia Onik Gasparyan has been submitted to the court. Gasparyan’s attorney Martik Martirosyan confirmed the news during a conversation with Armenian News-NEWS.am.

The Administrative Court has accepted Gasparyan’s claim for proceedings and granted the motion to apply the measure of securing the claim.

Gasparyan submitted a report on crime to the Prosecutor General of Armenia with the request to launch a criminal case under the elements of prima facie misuse of official powers by the Prime Minister and the Minister of Defense. Based on the prepared report, the Special Investigation Service has made a decision to reject the institution of a criminal case on the ground of absence of crime. An appeal against the decision of the Special Investigation Service has been submitted to the Prosecutor General’s Office, but it has also been rejected.
