We can attract Chinese tourists to Armenia. This is what Vice-President of Kuaishou Yu Jingzhong declared during the “Using Kuaishou, Discovering a Wonderful World for Us” event hosted by the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO).

According to Jingzhong, the Kuaishou video app, which is one of the most well-known apps in China, can also be used to attract Chinese tourists to countries of the SCO, adding that this will impact the economic development of those countries.

“Our app was very famous in China since it was initially predetermined for the rural population in the poverty-stricken areas of China. Later, more and more people started using it, and our product became popular in large cities of China as well, as well as in Latin America,” the vice-president said.

In response to Armenian News-NEWS.am’s question how the company plans to expand its audience in other countries if the app is used by a certain social layer of China that is mainly in the rural areas of the country, Jingzhong said the company intends to cooperate with foreign media and expand its audience.

“We would like to work with the countries of the SCO, including our partners in dialogue, one of which is Armenia. Over time, we realized that we can attract people with not only the life in China, but also destinations for Chinese citizens. For instance, we work with the embassies of China in SCO countries and observer states to attract the attention of the Chinese towards these countries through the Kuaishou app. The flow of Chinese tourists can help enhance the economies of these regions,” he added.
