A Norwegian court ordered Tesla to pay Model S and Model X electric car owners $ 16,000 each due to slow charging at Supercharger stations, Electrek reported.

Recharging is slower after a software update.

If there is no appeal, Tesla will have to pay $ 16,000 to each of the thousands of affected owners in the country. The fine maybe even more significant since similar lawsuits are under development in other countries, the newspaper notes.

The company said that one of the goals of the upgrade program was to protect the battery and increase battery life. The problem affected only a small percentage of owners.
