Acting Minister of Justice of Armenia Rustam Badasyan today received Director, Office of the Directorate General of Programmes of the Council of Europe Verena Taylor and newly appointed Head of the Council of Europe Office in Yerevan Martina Schmidt, as reported the Ministry of Justice of Armenia.

Greeting the guests and congratulating Martina Schmidt on her appointment, the acting justice minister emphasized that the Ministry of Justice and the Council of Europe Office in Yerevan cooperate excellently and considered the Armenia-Venice Commission partnership one of the best examples of the cooperation between Armenia and the Council of Europe.

Taylor expressed gratitude to Badasyan for the meeting, agreed with his assessment of the cooperation and mentioned that the cooperation between the Ministry of Justice and the Council of Europe Office is close, constructive and open.

During the meeting, the parties discussed several issues of mutual interest and particularly touched upon the implementation of judicial-legal reforms, the capacity-building of the Probation Service, as well as the development of cooperation for the fight against corruption.
