A body was found at the culture home in Etchmiadzin today, as reported the Investigative Committee of Armenia.

The Investigative Committee also reports that investigators took measures and found out that on the same day at around 2:10 p.m. a senior police officer of Armavir Province of Armenia entered the dressing room of the culture home, pointed a gun at the cavity of his mouth, opened fire and died on the spot.

In regard to the incident, the Investigative Committee has launched a criminal case under Article 110 of the Criminal Code of Armenia (inciting suicide).

A forensic medicine expert examination of the body has been designated.

Preliminary investigation is underway.
