Acting Foreign Minister of Armenia Ara Aivazian today received the ambassadors of member states of the Collective Security Treaty Organization (CSTO) accredited to Armenia, including Sergey Kopirkin (Russian Federation), Alexander Konyuk (Belarus) and Bolat Imanbayev (Kazakhstan), as reported the Armenian Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

The participants of the meeting focused on the illegal military infiltration of the Azerbaijani Armed Forces in certain borderline provinces of the Republic of Armenia which began on May 12 and caused the lethal injury of a serviceman of the Republic of Armenia on May 25.

Armenia’s acting foreign minister stated that, by not paying heed to and ignoring the calls of the international community, Azerbaijan not only fails to pull out its armed forces from the territory of the Republic of Armenia, but is also taking illegal actions against a member state of the CSTO.

Aivazian informed that the lack of an adequate evaluation and response of the international community and first and foremost the CSTO and CSTO member states of and to the lethal actions of the Armed Forces of Azerbaijan will lead to further escalation of the situation, which may entail the worst consequences from the perspective of regional security and stability.
