YEREVAN. – Hraparak daily of Armenia writes: Once revolutionary [and comedy actor] Hayk Marutyan, whom [acting PM] Nikol Pashinyan raised to stage with great admiration and enthusiasm during the days of the revolution [in 2018], and then two months later ordained to the high post of Yerevan mayor, has not communicated with the prime minister for more than a year, does not participate in government sittings, and there are deep inimical relations between the ruling team and him.
Now, the phase of working for the team has come, [but] the mayor has decided to wash his hands from the [snap parliamentary] elections [on June 20], not to participate in the [election] campaign with anything, not to work for the power.
We were informed that on June 7, the day of the start of the official campaign [season], he has planned a working visit to Rostov-on-Don [in Russia].
4 days on a business trip, and the other 6-7 days he will think of something until the elections are over.
However, in any case, Hayk Marutyan will not stay long in office; he will leave if Pashinyan's power is reproduced, and he will leave if it is not reproduced.
