YEREVAN. – About a thousand Azerbaijani servicemen are illegally in the territory of Armenia. Eduard Asryan, Deputy Chief of the General Staff of the Armenian Armed Forces, told this to a press conference Thursday.

"Their number does not exceed a thousand along the entire line of contact," Asryan said.

He stressed, however, that these Azerbaijani soldiers are unable to carry out any major tasks.

The General Staff of the Armenian Armed Forces continues to claim that these Azerbaijani military units are under blockade, at the same time having one supply route from the rear.

To note despite the aforesaid blockade, the number of these Azerbaijani servicemen, according to official data, has increased several times since the start of their incursion into Armenia on May 12.
