In California, a prisoner who considers himself a Satanist beheaded his cellmate and cut his body with a homemade knife, AP reported.

Jaime Osuna, 31, beheaded his cellmate Luis Romero, 44, but prison guards making their rounds reported that both men were alive, according to reports from the state inspector's general office.

Romero's family has filed a lawsuit seeking compensation for his death. "The idea that my client had to sue in order to get basic questions answered about her son's death is disheartening," said Justin Sterling, the attorney for Romero's mother.
