Iran and Iraq will intensify cooperation and are ready for joint investment projects.

Following two rounds of meetings of delegations led by Iranian Economy Minister Farhad Dejpasand and Iraqi Finance Minister Ali Abdul-Amir Allawi, the parties reached agreements on establishing closer trade ties between Tehran and Baghdad, Tasnim news reported.

Speaking at the final press conference, the Iranian minister noted that agreements had been reached to resolve customs issues, as well as to facilitate cooperation between representatives of the private sector of the two countries. 

He noted that Iran and Iraq also agreed on issues related to joint investment projects aimed at creating new industrial complexes. The issue of expanding the possibilities of railway communication between the two countries was also discussed.
