According to Armenian News-NEWS.am’s information, the person who was killed in downtown Yerevan Wednesday morning was the bodyguard of Rafayel Mardoyan—a.k.a. Rafo from Kyavar [Gavar town]—, who is considered a "criminal authority."
Two armored vehicles with Russian license plates were parked on Abovyan Street, and both belonged to Mardoyan.
According to Tert.am, Mardoyan was in a nearby hotel.
The media outlet added that he was taken to the police.
Assassination attempts were carried out against Rafayel Mardoyan before, too—in Yerevan; Glendale, California, USA; and Moscow.
