Armenia’s deputy foreign ministers were supposed to attend the joint session of four standing committees of the National Assembly today to discuss the annual report on the performance of the 2020 State Budget, but none of them showed up, and, as a result, Head of the Financial-Budget Department at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Armenia Armenuhi Galstyan had to present the report.

Before her speech, deputy of the opposition Prosperous Armenia faction Mikayel Melkumyan addressed Galstyan and inquired about the absence of the deputy foreign ministers. Deputy of the ruling My Step faction, Chairman of the Standing Committee on Foreign Relations Ruben Rubinyan rushed to answer his question and stated that the Ministry of Foreign Affairs had forwarded a letter to Speaker of the National Assembly Ararat Mirzoyan stating that the deputy foreign ministers have a heavy workload and that this was the reason for their absence.

Earlier, independent MP Taguhi Tovmasyan had declared that all the deputy foreign ministers have resigned.
