The increasingly active cooperation between Russia and China in the political and military fields poses a serious challenge for NATO, said the secretary general of the alliance Jens Stoltenberg.

Russia and China have been maintaining increasingly intensive cooperation at both the political and military levels, he noted adding that this is a new dimension and a serious challenge for NATO.

Moscow and Beijing are increasingly coordinating their respective positions on decisions within the framework of multilateral organizations such as the UN, he noted.

According to him, the countries conducting joint military exercises, experimenting with long-range combat aircraft and maritime operations, and conducting an intensive exchange of experience on weapons systems and Internet control.

Stoltenberg expressed confidence in the NATO bloc's ability to respond to the new challenges of the time.
