President of Armenia Armen Sarkissian today received representatives of Masdar, including Mohammed Al Shehhi and Vipul Goyal. Masdar is launching implementation of its first investment program in Armenia’s renewable energy sector which will kick off through the “AYG-1” solar photo-voltage program.

The agreement on the implementation of Masdar’s investment programs in Armenia was reached during Sarkissian’s official visit to the United Arab Emirates. In 2019, in Sarkissian’s presence, the Armenian National Interests Fund (ANIF) and Masdar signed an agreement on joint development to implement 400 megawatts projects in the renewable energy sector.

“Armenia also anticipates investments and new cooperation programs in other sectors, including technology, agriculture, logistics, etc. Our countries have great potential for cooperation,” President Sarkissian said.
