The Prosecutor General’s Office of Armenia has forwarded the video recording of the sensational statement by former Minister of Foreign Affairs of Armenia Ara Aivazian on the reasons for his resignation to the National Security Service to verify the circumstances that were presented and process the case, as reported the Prosecutor General’s Office of Armenia in response to Armenian News-NEWS.am’s inquiry.

In his speech at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs on May 31, Ara Aivazian said the following as he stated the reason for his resignation: “…so that there will never be a doubt that this ministry can ever take any step or agree to certain ideas or initiatives that have been against our statehood, our national interest and state interest.”

Armenian News-NEWS.am had contacted the Prosecutor General’s Office to specify what actions the Prosecutor General’s Office has taken to find out who had forced the acting minister to take a certain step or agree to certain ideas or initiatives that were against the statehood, national interest and state interest of Armenia. Armenian News-NEWS.am had also asked what steps the Prosecutor General’s Office has taken for protection of state interest, particularly to reveal and neutralize the alleged threats to state security that were mentioned in the text of the resignation letter.

The Prosecutor General’s Office informed that, as a result of monitoring of mass media outlets and social networks, on May 31, it revealed the video recording of the meeting that acting Minister of Foreign Affairs Ara Aivazian had had with the personnel of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs on the same day, explored it, and on June 1, it forwarded the video recording to the National Security Service of Armenia to verify the circumstances presented in the video recording and process the case.
