As of tomorrow, it is time to restore internal political peace and solidarity in the country. Edmon Marukyan—chairman of the opposition Bright Armenia Party (BAP), head of its current parliamentary faction, and their candidate for Prime Minister—told this to reporters after voting in Sunday’s snap parliamentary elections.

"The elections are a chance for us to take that step in this situation. We have no alternative, as our challenges are much bigger than we imagine. We must put aside our small truths for the sake of greater truth and value, which is our state," he said.

According to Marukyan, in order to avoid post-election clashes, the citizens will vote in polling stations in such a way that it will not be possible. "There will be no force that will say 'I won alone.' And we will sit around one table and come up with the idea of forming a government of national accord; only in this case can we get out of such a situation," the BAP leader emphasized.

In his opinion, the forces that buy votes and the people who take electoral bribes manifest an inimical attitude. "The force that will distribute electoral bribes is [Azerbaijani President] Ilham Aliyev's force, and the ones who take electoral bribes—the same. It means disrespecting the memory of our [fallen] heroes," Edmon Marukyan added.
