Our observations and the reports from the election campaign headquarters of the bloc show that violations had been committed much earlier than the day of the elections. This is stated in the statement issued by ‘Armenia’ bloc, which ran in the snap parliamentary elections in Armenia. The statement also reads as follows:
“ ‘Armenia’ bloc expresses its gratitude to the citizens of Armenia who supported the bloc and cast their votes for the latter during the elections of the National Assembly of Armenia held on June 20, 2021. This instills confidence that our hundreds of thousands of citizens, who are concerned about the country, not only saw the existential threats facing the Armenian people, but also approved the solutions proposed by the bloc.
‘Armenia’ bloc reaffirms its view that the results of the parliamentary elections are strictly disputed and don’t instill confidence. We have serious grounds to consider these elections as illegitimate and to declare that the National Assembly does not reflect the real ratio of forces based on these results. Our observations and the reports from the election campaign headquarters of the bloc show that violations had been committed much earlier than the day of the elections. On the day of the elections, the preliminary summary of alarms from our proxies at several precincts show that we are dealing with coordinated and previously planned electoral fraud.
In particular, there was no competitive environment; administrative resources were massively used by the incumbent authorities; there were power outages in several precincts; there were many foreign citizens who voted in several precincts; the clearly guided votes of soldiers are irrefutable and ensured a large number votes for the authorities; there is a high doubt that there was planned fraud and there are alarms about cases of electoral bribes in certain communities that were concealed by the authorities.
‘Armenia’ bloc will use all the tools to challenge the results of the elections and will apply to the Constitutional Court. The bloc is holding political consultations with other forces that ran in the elections in order to consider the possibility of applying to the Constitutional Court together.”
