According to Armenian News-NEWS.am, President of Artsakh (Nagorno-Karabakh) intends to hold a referendum of confidence in Artsakh and will announce this during the rally to be held in Stepanakert today.

Harutyunyan is probably inspired by the results that Nikol Pashiyan recorded in the snap parliamentary elections in Armenia and has decided to provide the legitimacy of his government to the people of Artsakh through a referendum.

Yesterday several citizens gathered at Renaissance Square in Stepanakert and demanded the resignation of President Arayik Harutyunyan, and today, the President declared that he will deliver a message at Renaissance Square at 6 p.m.

“I’m going to be open and frank about all the main issues and solutions, starting from the war and relations with the authorities of Armenia and ending with the current security issue and social-economic situation and political developments in the country. I regret to see that many people lack common sense in the current mutable situation and that they don’t understand the gravity of the situation for the future of Artsakh. I bear responsibility for all citizens of Artsakh in this dire situation, regardless of some people’s attitude towards me,” Harutyunyan wrote.
