YEREVAN. – There is no need to despair, our struggle continues, we do not deviate from our struggle, we will remain steadfastly committed to all the principles we have declared, we will continue to work in the opposition arena. Artur Vanetsyan, the candidate for prime minister of the "I Have Honor" bloc and the leader of the opposition Homeland party, stated this during a press conference on Wednesday, in connection with the results of the snap parliamentary elections whereby this political force has won several seats in the National Assembly of Armenia.

Referring to the election results, Vanetsyan said: "To say that the results were expected, no. But we have what we have. During the last 2-3 days, we have repeatedly voiced that a direct terrorizing has started against the activists, staff of the offices of the bloc. This aimed to reduce the number of votes given to us, in general, to get a situation where the opposition gets fewer votes. Our lawyers are studying all these cases, and we will go to court if necessary."

And asked whether they will take the parliamentary mandates they have received as a result of the aforesaid elections, Vanetsyan responded: "If a decision is made that the bloc will after all go to parliament, I will definitely not leave my team alone, I will go to parliament and we will continue our struggle in parliament. Unfortunately, not taking the mandates does not have any legal consequences for the activities of the parliament; that is, if we do not take the mandates, the parliament [still] continues to function."
