Today at 5 p.m. a protest will be held in front of the Prosecutor General’s Office of Armenia with the demand to abolish the arrest of member of ‘Armenia’ bloc, Director of Izmirlian Medical Center, doctor-professor Armen Charchyan. This is stated in the announcement made by ‘Armenia’ bloc. The statement also states the following:

“On June 23, the Yerevan court of general jurisdiction granted the motion of the Special Investigation Service to arrest member of ‘Armenia’ bloc, Director of Izmirlian Medical Center, doctor-professor Armen Charchyan.

‘Armenia’ bloc assesses the arrest as political persecution — the authorities stay true to their practice to carry out the extremely unlawful acts that they have been carrying out for the past three years.

Armen Charchyan’s attorneys have submitted an urgent motion to Prosecutor General of Armenia Artur Davtyan with the request to exercise discretionary power and abolish arrest as a pre-trial measure.”
