In recent times, the phone calls made by the Azerbaijanis to the people of Artsakh, through which they propose to the latter to sell their apartments, have become an issue of active discussion in Artsakh. Analyst Tigran Abrahamyan, a former security adviser to the Artsakh (Nagorno-Karabakh) President and a member of the opposition "I Have Honor" bloc of the Republic of Armenia (RA), wrote about this on Facebook.

"The main idea conveyed [in these phone calls] by the Azerbaijanis is that, 'Artsakh will be handed over [to Azerbaijan] in any case, and we propose [to you] to sell your apartments.'

There are actually two main issues here. First, it is obvious that Azerbaijan has launched a total psychological attack on the people of Artsakh, trying to accelerate Artsakh’s de-Armenianization by increasing the dose of the climate of fear.

Second, it offers a ‘satanic deal’ to the people, trying to gain control over Artsakh in that way.

All this becomes more tragic amid Armenia’s authorities’ withdrawing from the process and closing the chapter of Artsakh once and for all.

There is a need to stand with the people of Artsakh, support [them] with whatever is possible.

At the same time, there is a need to remember that the ambitions of Azerbaijan and Turkey will not be limited to Artsakh, and any concession on the Artsakh issue will open a new way for the losses of the RA territory, "Abrahamyan added.
