Benjamin Gill, a US citizen, alerted NEWS.am that on June 24 in Gyumri the traffic police fined him 30,000 drams (over $ 50) without stating the specific reason.

According to him, he was riding a moped in the central part of Gyumri around noon when the traffic police stopped him.

"I was driving in a separate line when I was stopped," he said.

"They said that I had cut off the truck, but they did not explain what exactly I had done."

"They demanded that I pay $ 200 for the violation and the situation was such that they kept my driver's license. I understood that if I did not pay, they would either take my license or take me to prison."

"I persuaded them to pay a hundred dollars."

He managed to bargain and pay the policeman AMD 30,000, for which he was not given a receipt.

According to the US citizen, his moped is registered in Georgia, from where the US citizen arrived in Armenia the day before the incident.

He reported the incident to the Police.
