A Catholic priest was murdered in west of France, after which the suspect surrendered to the police, Reuters reports.

The source added that the suspect is a citizen of Rwanda, who had participated in setting the Nantes Cathedral on fire in 2020.

The priest’s body was found in Saint-Laurent-sur-Sevre. “I fully support Catholics in our country following the tragic murder of a priest in Vande. I’m going there,” Minister of the Interior Gerald Darmanin tweeted.
