YEREVAN. – Hraparak daily of Armenia writes: The [opposition] "Armenia" Faction [in the National Assembly (NA)] has not yet made a decision on how to manage the bonuses received from the NA presidency on the 30th anniversary of independence.

Let us recall that the MPs had received a bonus of 70 percent of [their monthly] salary. But, unlike the pro-government [MPs] who were satisfied and happy regarding that "symbolic sum," the two opposition factions [in parliament] announced that they were giving up the money and would direct it either to the families of soldiers fallen, wounded as a result of the [Artsakh (Nagorno-Karabakh)] war [last fall], or to another social fund.

Opinions [in this regard] are divided at the "Armenia" Faction. Should the money be transferred to the 1,000-dram fund? Or to individuals? However, before making a decision, they intend—with the first step—to petition to the CC [(Constitutional Court)] on the matter of challenging the legality of bonuses. In case of a positive decision by the CC, all the sums, including those of the pro-government [MPs], will be returned to the [state] budget.
