The European Union is asking Russia to increase coal supplies, Bloomberg reported.

Electricity producers on the continent are forced to ask for more coal from Russia to ease the energy crisis as winter approaches and record high gas prices, according to representatives of two Russian coal companies.

The Russian Ministry of Energy said that the export of coal, including for the production of electricity to Europe, will not change this year and will amount to about 48 million tons.
