Speaker of the National Assembly of Armenia Alen Simonyan today received Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Peru to Armenia Juan Genaro del Campo Rodriguez.

As reported the National Assembly of Armenia, the parliamentary speaker congratulated him on being appointed Ambassador of Peru and wished him success in the to-be-implemented programs.

In the context of close cooperation with Latin American countries, Simonyan attached importance to the inter-parliamentary relations with the Parliament of Peru and underscored the need for the formation of parliamentary friendship groups in Peru and Armenia.

The Ambassador expressed gratitude for the reception, emphasized that the development of bilateral ties will be viewed as a priority during his mission and stated that parliaments play a major role in strengthening the partnering ties.

The parties also discussed issues related to the two countries’ participation in the Ancient Civilizations Forum and attached importance to the formation of joint agendas with regard to cultural heritage at the level of legislatures.
