YEREVAN. – Zhoghovurd newspaper of the Republic of Armenia (RA) writes: According to Zhoghovurd daily’s information, the NSS [(National Security Service)] will summon also the chief of the General Staff [of the Armed Forces] Artak Davtyan for questioning in the criminal case against former RA Defense Minister Davit Tonoyan and his close friend [and arms supplier] Davit Galstyan [(Patron Davo)], and it is not ruled out that he [i.e., Davtyan] will also be charged along the lines of the criminal case initiated by the NSS.

According to rumors circulating in the judicial and law enforcement system, the [Court of] Cassation will not have Patron Davo arrested, as he has been interceded for with the authorities. And moreover, if they re-arrested him, a number of MOD officials currently working—that is, chief of the General Staff [of the Armed Forces] Artak Davtyan, Former Minister of Defense Davit Tonoyan, and other officials—will “follow suit.”
