Presidents of Russia and Turkey Vladimir Putin and Recep Tayyip Erdogan discussed the construction of new nuclear power plants in Turkey; Ankara has certain geographical locations where it is considering installing them, Spokesperson of the President of Russia Dmitry Peskvo said, RIA Novosti reports.

“Yesterday we said it actually concerns the creation of a new branch of economy. The topic on the construction of new energy blocks was raised, and the presidents talked about the possibility of continuing the cooperation,” Peskov told reporters when asked whether Erdogan had discussed the possibility of construction of new nuclear power plants in Turkey.

Earlier, Putin and Erdogan had held talks in Sochi.
